There are three categories for Matric Upgrade
The Thulebona Khumalo Matric Finishing School offers tuition classes to prepare the three Category of Learners for their Matric Examination.
The Department of Education administers the writing of exams.

There are three categories for Matric Upgrade
The Thulebona Khumalo Matric Finishing School offers tuition classes to prepare the three Category of Learners for their Matric Examination.
The Department of Education administers the writing of exams.
Category One
For learners who have written Matric sometime over the last 3 years and they are referred to as private Matric repeaters.
These learners want to improve their results because they have not met the minimum marks required by the universities or they have not acquired the necessary levels in a particular subject in order to pursue their desired field of study.
They sit for their examination in October/November.
Category Two
For learners who have completed Matric more than 3 years ago and want to upgrade their Matric results to get better results than previously.They can change subjects as they wish
These learners can register at the Circuit Offices and District Offices in their vicinity.
They write in the examination centres designated by the Department of Education and they write in June.
Category Three
For learners who were in Matric but could not write the examination for some reason or the other.
Also open for learners who did not get to Matric, but they passed Grade 9 and are now over 21 years of age.
They write in the examination centres designated by the Department of Education and they write in June.

History
School background information
The school is named after the late founder and the builder of the school, Thulebona Caleb Khumalo who wanted to start a skills development centre but he passed on before seeing his dream become a reality.
17 Years later (in 2017) Mr.QM Mdletshe who was the former Principal of the best achieving school in the Umzinyathi District took on the task to start a Matric Upgrading School in Glencoe.
Today, the legacy of Thulebona Caleb Khumalo brings hope to young people who before they enrolled gave up hope of being educated and can now make their mark in the world through the efforts of all involved at Thulebona Khumalo Finishing School.
The school's vision
The vision of the Thulebona Khumalo Finishing School is to bring hope and to restore confidence to many who want to upgrade or finish their Matric, thus enabling them to further their studies at tertiary institutions or be able to get jobs.
The long-term goal is to make Thulebona Khumalo Finishing School a private school which incorporates Grade 8-12.

The school is located in Glencoe at 27 Tungstein Street, at eNdumeni Municipality, under uMzinyathi District Municipality in KwaZulu Natal.
Glencoe is a small town in Dundee and it is between Ladysmith and Newcastle, 20 km away from the N11 road.

Tuition
The school is headed by an experienced Principal who attained 100% bachelor passes in his former school, Boschkloof Combined School, near Maria Ratschitz Mission in Wasbank where he served for 18 years as a Principal.
He is a committed, dedicated, diligent and a visionary Principal. Learners are taught in separate classrooms for each subject. The Educators are well qualified and very committed to their work as they teach on weekends and holidays as well.
Classes start as early as 7h00 to 14h30 everyday, February to October. There are Saturday and holiday classes to reinforce learning. The maximum learner teacher ratio is 1:20. All our lessons are conducted in English.

The school is registered as a Non-Profit Company (2017/005339/18).
The school is managed by the board of directors with the Principal leading and managing the day-to-day duties.
Tuition
